Italian fashion has been praised as being one of the best in the world, as it offers impressive creativity and skilled designers. The Italian fashion scene is already dominated by global powerhouses like Prada, Gucci, Bottega Veneta and Dolce & Gabbana. But there are also emerging talents and new stars in the fashion industry, building on the existing legacy while making their own.

Let’s place the spotlight on the new generation of Italian designers who seem to be pushing the boundaries and infusing modern styles.

Paris Texas

One of the top emerging fashion brands in Italy is Paris Texas, launched in 2015. The Italian shoe brand has gained a lot of attention, combining brilliant French concepts with Texas cowgirl designs. This results in their collection of knee-high boots, heels, booties, and sandals.

Paris Texas is praised for being fashion-forward, especially since their shoes are stylish yet comfortable. It was inspired by the modern woman, and gained a lot of popularity in 2018. Their boots come in bold and classic styles, and can be purchased in leather, faux animal and suede prints.

Pasqualetti graduated from IUAV in Venice, and worked with The Row and Loewe before founding his brand in 2021. He had an impressive start in the fashion industry, recognized at Who Is Next in 2021 with the Franca Sozzani Award and becoming a finalist for the 2022 LVMH Prize.

For Pasquealetti’s Spring 2024 Ready-to-Wear Collection, he revisited crochet, upcycled denim, bells and shapes from his previous collections. The brand has also launched a line of jewelry after working with local artisans in rural Tuscany.

Alevì Milano is a leading Italian women’s footwear brand, known for its Italian-inspired shoes. The brand supports Italian designs, so all the shoes are crafted by expert artisans and the materials are sourced in Italy. Despite the traditional Italian concept, Alevì’s shoes have sexy shapes.

Made with glamorous leathers like soft suedes and printed leathers, the brand offers unique shoes that explore the natural femininity of a woman’s body. The Alevì Milao brand was founded by Valentina Micchetti and Perla Alessandri in 2017. These native Italian women cleverly craft their shoes to be versatile, with modern and dynamic designs.

Marni

Marni is next on our list, a playful and vibrant brand that was founded by Consuelo and Gianni Castiglioni in the late 90s. By 2016, it was acquired by Renzo Rosso’s OTB Group, and that ushered in a different era. The Creative Direction of the brand is done by Francesco Risso, who worked under Miuccia Prada for eight years.

Marni stands out as the most fun brand in fashion, experimenting with different materials and colors, and mixing shapes and prints. Their collections include ready-to-wear clothes for all, including kids, handbags, accessories, shoes and eyewear.

ForBitches

Another fun and playful brand on our list is ForBitches, a saucy tiny bag label that combines concepts of innocence and modernity in its bags. Inspired by dolls and toys, the bags are made with cellulose diacetate, which is the same material used to make dolls.

The ForBitches bags have different designs and shapes, from pastel butterflies and bright bows to leather bags and bags with buckles. ForBitches is a girly brand that combines the 2000s pop culture, referencing icons like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. All the bags are minuscule and made of plastic, with magnetic fastening for closure.
